Interview with Ally and Josh

What has been the best thing about the trip so far?

Josh: The best thing about the trip is we don't have to do much school. School is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. I like getting up early and traveling to cool places. Ally and I like doing arts and crafts and also going aroud spying on mummy and daddy. When we do school we learn about some things that we actually get to go to! For example, we are learning about the Mesa Verde Indians, and we went to Mesa Verde! I like it when we have a Movie night, (where we watch a movie at night) eat pizza, and have fun! What makes it even better is we are always together in the rv. Another good thing is you guys are encouraging us! It makes us feel like you are always there.

Ally: The best thing is that were always together. This trip brings us closer together. The only bad thing about that is that we get to see Mummy and Daddy argueing a lot more and me and Josh argue. Another good thing is that is such an amazing experience for me. I talk to some people and they have only done half of what we are doing.

What have you found the hardest?

Josh: Some of the hardest things are not having friends. I still have Ally, but 1 friend isn't enough. When we do have friends, we only get to see them for 1 or 2 days. Whenever I get up, I have to make mummy and daddy a cup of tea. I like it, but it can get really annoying. I can't hop into bed any old time. If I want to go to bed I have to take the table down to a bed. Usually it doesn't take that long, but somtimes it gets a little boring. It's even harder because if they want a cup of tea, I have to boil the kettle, I can't just press a tap and it comes out like at home. Those are some of the hardest things.

Ally: Some of the hardest things are not having my own room. Privacy. I hardly get privacy. When I get out of the shower everyone seems to go through the bathroom seven billion times. If I'm sad or frustrated, I have to go outside, but then everyone looks at me. Another thing is I need space to put my stuff. My "space" is about the size of a shoe box. One thing that's annoying that doesn't have to do with the RV is the campsite's pool. It's either dirty or clean and other people swim in the pool. You know old people live in the campsite? Well I have to go swimming with old people. I can't splash around and that. I end up sitting ther watching them do their arobics. One last thing is that we have a "toilet room" about one foot long and two feet wide. I always get costraphobic in there.

How has it been having Mummy and Daddy as your teachers?

Josh: Having mummy and daddy as teachers is usually pretty cool but you get to hate it. It sucks a bit because you are always with them every hour of the day. They can be a tad strict, but it's cool. I don't like it because if you finish a lesson early, you do another one. If you finish a lesson late you do most of it again.

Ally: It's good because you know your teacher because they're your parents. You can talk to them in a different way then you can to your normal teachers.

What are the top five places that you enjoyed the most?

Josh: The top five places that I enjoyed the most were Crater lake, Ketchum, Disney, Arizona, and Nevada. I enjoyed Crater lake because we had Ally's birthday there and it was always sunny and nice. Crater lake was so clear! Ketchum was cool because it was a cool little town and it had everything you needed! Disney was one of the best because it was the coolest theme park ever and we had lots of fun! Arizona and Nevada were great because we went dune buggying and we went to Biosphere 2.

Ally: Crater Lake because of the view. Disney World , duh, kids paradise! Moab, super cool place. Especially for your Jeep. Key west because it's a perfect tropical getaway. Santa Fe, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! I recomend you going to these places.

How has been not having your friends ?

Ally: It sucks. I just want to have a playdate or a slumberparty just once. And talk about girl stuff with a friend. Josh would not be interested.

What do you miss about home the most?

Josh: What I miss about home the most is not having you guys to play with. I also miss not having a big pool, house and all the toys I had. I hope Max (my best friend) could once come over. I liked having my own room and all my own space, computer, desk , and bed that stays the way it is. The fireplace and living room was cool so that on cold nights we could have a fire. I liked the bar and the jelly bean machine. Those things were what I liked most about home.

Ally: I miss my room, a big beautiful house, a great back garden, lots of space, my toys, and a big bathroom.

What will you miss most about the trip when you finish?

Josh: When we finish the trip I will miss traveling and going to new campsites. I will also hate not being together as a family all the time. It would suck when we don't live in the rv anymore. I love this trip more than anyone can imagine.

Ally: I will miss traveling, homeschooling, Herman, and not being so close together.
